About the Department of Preventive Medicine & Public Health

The University of Kansas Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health is a multidisciplinary department in the School of Medicine at KU Medical Center (KUMC), Kansas City. The department uses epidemiologic and other methods for the solution of individual and population health problems. The faculty includes behavioral scientists, biostatisticians, epidemiologists, physicians, research psychologists, and social scientists.

The department has a close working relationship with the Kansas Cancer Institute, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and Health Policy and Management and in Wichita, KS, Preventive Medicine. The department also works closely with KU Lawrence, the main campus.
