Dr. Azor Hui received her Ph.D. in Lifespan Developmental Psychology from University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her graduate school career, she acquired extensive clinical and research experiences in various health psychology topics across the lifespan. She has experiences in clinical research in smoking cessation intervention, cognitive aging prevention, and caregiving relationship and rehabilitation of chronic illnesses. She also has some basic research experience in motivation of health behavior change. Dr. Hui is mostly interested in the common emotional and social psychological processes underlying all lifestyle changes. Particularly, the influence of significant social relationships on individual’s self-regulation processes is fascinating to her. She is also interested in community-based intervention programs to promote healthy lifestyle. She was a sexual health educator to prevent STDs/HIV among youths for 3 years during her time at UAB. Currently, she is actively involved in the Kan Quit II project that studies a Centralized Disease Management model to help smokers in rural hospitals stop smoking.
